A Professional Approach to the Study of the Earth’s Interior

Identification of prospects for geological exploration activities

Development of recommendations, design of the plans and programs for geological exploration are carried out based on a comprehensive analysis of existing geological and geophysical information and assessment of its quality, reliability and sufficiency.

An obligatory preliminary stage before the identification of prospective areas for geological exploration is the assessment of the degree of knowledge of the territory. The optimal combination of exploration is determined depending on the state of knowledge, stage and phase of geological exploration activities, which, will allow obtaining a maximum of geological information sufficient for the optimal solution of the task at hand with the least financial and time costs.

Identification of prospective directions for geological exploration includes the following activities:

  • Assessment of oil and gas prospects of the territories;
  • Assessment of the degree of knowledge of the licensed territories;
  • Assessment of the results of work carried out at subsoil use sites.

The results of the activities mentioned above are:

  • Issuance of recommendations on the types and volumes of geological exploration at specific sites;
  • Plans and programs of geological explorations on the territories;
  • Justification of the types and volumes of geological exploration;
  • Issuance of recommendations on the types and volumes of research during drilling, testing and trial operation of wells;
  • Development of exploration projects;
  • Issuance of recommendations and justification of the location of the well.
